I'm Back!

Oh my!  It has been a long time!  I didn't mean for it to be this long.  You see, the Hubby and I got a House!  I had no idea how much work we were going to have to put into our house.  It has literally taken my every thought and ounce of energy!  So I wasn't doing much cooking but I did make Thanksgiving at our new house... I will post on that later!  Luckily I thought of taking pictures.

However, tonight I did make Cincinnati Chili.  This is our off or fun night!  We are both trying really hard to eat health.  But for the off nights I do something out of the ordinary for us.  And tonight was it.  Cincinnati Chili. For those of you who haven't grown up or live  in Cincinnati area. You might not have had the pleasure of having this type of Chili.  It is not what most people consider chili to be.  There are no beans in this chili, and usually you serve the chili on Spaghetti.  I know, I know... It is weird and serious Chili lovers completely mock this type of Chili.  However, the hubby loves it and for the amount of work that it takes to make it is completely worth the scorn of the chili lovers.

Chili in the pot!

Pasta in Boiling Water.

Then you the layer of cheese. ( I never said this was going to be healthy)

It is so good the hubby is really licking his bowl.

Another shot of it.   Frankly, I don't know about you but this is the best compliment there is. I hope for this every time I made a meal. That my mild mannered husband will actually lick his bowl.

It is good to be back!

Quick Dinner and Post.

I'm so sorry I haven't written...   Let me explain. I have eaten out a lot since starting this blog.  We have bought a house,  started fixing up that house  and moved out of our apartment.  What a huge sigh of relief that was to move out of there.  Let's just say that our relationship with Autumn Woods has gone down hill.  But that is a story for another day.  I don't have any pictures for you but let me give you a little something that Dan and I have been living on during this time.  See we both will go work a full day at our jobs and then go to our House (Squeal!!) and put in at least 3 to 4 hours there before we would drive home.  So on the rare days that I actually made something it was more of a crock pot, use what we have in the fridge and don't want to move meal.  But here is an easy but really good meal.

Crock pot pulled chicken.

3 to 4 pieces of chicken.  (you can use frozen just know you will need about 8 hours unfrozen about 4.)
BBQ sauce.  You can make or buy it.  I buy it, Kroger's always has it on sale.  and it is just good to have it around  the house.
Mix all together and cook.

That is it.  It is that simple.  You know it is done when you can pull apart the chicken by simply mixing a spoon in.

Well it is off to do something else with the house.  I promise once the house doesn't need constant attention I will write more.

New Blog

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to my new blog.  I have decided to take a break from my all about me blog and write about something that I enjoy.  FOOOOD!  I love it.  I and Julie Child have one thing in common.  We love food.  Let's face it.  Most of us saw, Julie and Julia.  "Julie Child wasn't always, JULIE CHILD." With this and hopefully our move down to Cincy. (fingers, toes and everything else possible to cross, crossed on that one.) I am hoping to try and cook new recipes.  (Hello and Thank you Pinterest.)  Not to mention discovering a new city with hopefully new food joints.    I hope you all will be willing to take this ride with us.

P.S.  Don't you love the cupcake pink???  Not sure it will stay but I'm thinking I like it.  Welp, time to hit the sack.  Hubby just came by gave me it is time to get to bed look.  Up early with work tomorrow!
